If You Fly the Progressive Pride Flag I Assume You Support the Genital Mutation of Minors.

If you fly a progressive pride flag, I assume you support the genital mutilation of minors.

No, I'm not mincing words. The "progressive" version of the Pride flag isn't some innocent update—it's a deliberate political statement that folds in full-throated endorsement of transgender ideology, including pumping kids with puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and carving up their healthy genitals and breasts before they're old enough to vote, drive, or understand basic biology.

That chevron with the trans colors (light blue, pink, white) plus black and brown stripes isn't neutral. It signals alignment with the current activist machine: the one pushing "gender-affirming care" that sterilizes children, destroys their sexual function, and leaves them with lifelong medical complications. Flying it means you're okay with experimental chemical castration and surgical butchery on confused teenagers and even younger kids.

The Original 1978 Rainbow Flag Was Grassroots

Don't confuse this with the classic rainbow flag. The original 1978 version was a raw, DIY creation born from San Francisco's post-Stonewall activist scene—no corporate suits, no big money, no rainbow-washing from Fortune 500 brands.

Artist Gilbert Baker designed it at the request of Harvey Milk and local organizers for the Gay Freedom Day Parade. Baker, who worked at a flag company, did this on his own terms. He wanted a bold, positive symbol of diversity and hope, pulling from the rainbow in the sky instead of grim reminders like the pink triangle.

Real grassroots shit:

  • About 30 volunteers, including Lynn Segerblom (Faerie Argyle Rainbow) and James McNamara, hand-dyed cotton muslin in trash cans with natural dyes in the attic of the Gay Community Center.
  • They stitched two massive 30-by-60-foot flags by hand and sewing machine.
  • The San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Committee kicked in a measly $1,000 just for materials—fabric, dyes, salt. That was it.
  • The flags flew for the first time on June 25, 1978, in United Nations Plaza.

This was community sweat equity. Volunteers. Local funding. No major corporations bankrolling or steering it. Baker called a true flag something "torn from the soul of the people." He fought against trademarking it so it stayed free for everyone. Pure activist energy, not PR stunts.

Later, after Harvey Milk's assassination, demand exploded. A local company started mass-producing it in 1979, and they dropped the hot pink and indigo stripes because scaling up was a pain. Over decades, corporations jumped on the rainbow bandwagon for Pride month marketing. But that's commercialization after the fact—not how the original flag started. The 1978 version was independent, volunteer-driven, and anti-corporate in spirit.

The Progressive Flag Is a Different Animal

The modern "progressive" Pride flag slaps on those trans stripes and intersectional colors as an arrow "pointing forward." It explicitly elevates transgenderism and identity politics over the original gay liberation focus. When you fly that version today, you're not just waving rainbow nostalgia—you're endorsing where the movement has gone: medicalizing childhood confusion at warp speed.

We're talking about:

  • Puberty blockers that pause natural development, often leading straight to cross-sex hormones.
  • Hormones that cause sterility, bone density loss, cardiovascular risks, and permanent changes.
  • Surgeries: double mastectomies on teen girls ("top surgery"), genital reconstruction ("bottom surgery") that creates non-functional, high-maintenance wounds.

This isn't "care." It's chemical and surgical intervention on minors whose brains aren't fully developed, many of whom have autism, trauma, same-sex attraction, or social contagion as underlying issues. European countries like the UK, Sweden, and Finland have slammed the brakes after reviewing the weak evidence—restricting or banning these interventions for kids because the risks far outweigh any unproven benefits. The U.S. "affirmative" model keeps charging ahead, often with minimal therapy and "child-led" decisions that ignore high natural desistance rates (most gender dysphoric kids used to grow out of it pre-"affirmation" era).

Detransitioners are coming forward with horror stories of regret, infertility, sexual dysfunction, and deepened mental health crises. The push to "affirm" at all costs has real victims—kids whose bodies were altered irreversibly before they could consent as adults.

Symbols mean something. The original rainbow flag flew for gay men and lesbians fighting for basic rights and visibility. The progressive flag now flies for an ideology that treats healthy child bodies like Play-Doh for adult activists and profit-driven clinics.

So yeah—if that updated flag is in your yard, on your car, or in your window, the assumption is fair game. You're signaling support for a movement that green-lights the mutilation of minors' genitals in the name of "progress."

Call it what it is. History shows the original was community-born. The new one is corporate-friendly identity politics with a body count among the young and vulnerable.
