Garland Harvest Hop
Explore the Magic of Fall at the 2025 Garland Harvest Hop in Downtown Garland!
Hey, Garland neighbors! 🍁 The leaves are turning, the air is crisp, and the Downtown Garland Harvest Hop is here to bring all the fall feels to our community! From September 17 to November 1, 2025, our charming downtown transforms into a festive wonderland with 10 whimsical pumpkin displays waiting to be discovered. I recently spotted one of these vibrant setups at the corner of State Street and 7th, right across from Bee Hippie, and it’s already giving off major autumn vibes! Whether you’re a local looking for a fun outing or just love snapping Instagram-worthy fall photos, this free scavenger hunt is the perfect way to celebrate the season.
What is the Garland Harvest Hop?
The Garland Harvest Hop is a family-friendly scavenger hunt that invites you to stroll through Downtown Garland, exploring local businesses and uncovering hidden surprises among 10 beautifully crafted pumpkin displays. Each stop is a chance to soak in the cozy fall atmosphere, take selfies with gourds and hay bales, and support our vibrant community. The event runs alongside the Fall Fest on the Square kickoff on September 20, 2025, from 5 to 10 p.m., but you can hop at your own pace over six weeks!
How It Works: Your Autumn Adventure Awaits
Ready to join the fun? Here’s how to dive into the Harvest Hop:
- Pick Up Your Map: Start at the Downtown Garland Visitor Center (501 W. State St., Garland, TX 75040) to grab a free Harvest Hop brochure with a map of all 10 pumpkin display locations.
- Hunt for Surprises: Visit each stop to find a unique “surprise item” hidden among the pumpkins. These could be small tokens, decorations, or clues tied to the display’s theme—perfect for kids and adults alike!
- Snap & Share: Take photos at each display (like the one I saw at State Street and 7th, catty-corner from Bee Hippie!) and tag @DowntownGarland on social media for a chance to be featured.
- Claim Your Prize: Once you’ve visited all 10 stops and collected your items or stamps, return to the Visitor Center to “harvest” a festive prize! While the exact prize isn’t specified, think fall-themed goodies like a small keepsake, certificate, or seasonal swag to celebrate your completion.
The Pumpkin Displays: 10 Reasons to Fall in Love with Garland
The heart of the Harvest Hop is its 10 unique pumpkin displays, each thoughtfully placed at local businesses or public spots within walking distance in Downtown Garland. These aren’t just piles of pumpkins—they’re creative, photo-ready setups with gourds, hay bales, and autumn flair. I’ve already noticed one eye-catching display at State Street and 7th, right near Bee Hippie, bursting with orange and festive charm. While the exact number of pumpkins per display varies, expect each to be a delightful mix of seasonal decor, perfect for capturing that fall magic. Businesses like Fortunate Son, Tavern on the Square, and Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery may host these displays, tying the hunt to our local favorites.
Cost: It’s Free!
Here’s the best part: the Garland Harvest Hop is completely free! No tickets or registration fees are required—just grab your map and start exploring. This makes it an ideal activity for families, friends, or even a solo adventure to enjoy the season without breaking the bank. If you’re joining the Fall Fest on September 20, note that the Guzzler 0.5K Run and Fall Crawl: Craft Beer Tasting Trail have separate costs ($20 for the beer crawl, with registration fees for the run increasing after September 1), but the Harvest Hop itself is open to all at no charge.
Why You Shouldn’t Miss It
Living in Garland, I’m thrilled to see our downtown come alive with events like this! The Harvest Hop is more than just a scavenger hunt—it’s a chance to connect with our community, support local shops, and make memories with loved ones. The display at State Street and 7th, just across from Bee Hippie, is already setting the tone for a festive season. Plus, with the Fall Fest on the Square offering live music, a kid’s zone, and a pumpkin patch photo op, you can make a full day of it on September 20 or hop at your leisure through November 1.
