Coins and Currency — Missed The Show in Oklahoma?
Chasing Coin Shows Near Dallas: My 2025 Numismatic Adventure
I recently missed a currency convention while visiting Oklahoma, and I’ve been itching to find another chance to dive into the world of coins and currency. Living near Dallas, Texas, I’m lucky to have some great options coming up in 2025 to explore numismatic events and get my coin collection appraised. Here’s what I found!
Upcoming Coin Shows Near Dallas
- Cowtown Coin Show (Feb 28–Mar 1, May 16–17, Sep 5–6, Nov 21–22, 2025) – White Settlement, TX (~35 miles from Dallas). A great spot to meet dealers and get coins appraised.
- Texoma Coin Show (Mar 22, 2025) – Denison, TX (~75 miles). Perfect for a day trip to check out rare coins and currency.
- Gainesville Coin Show (Apr 24–26, Jun 27–29, Oct 23–25, 2025) – Gainesville, TX (~65 miles). A big event with plenty of appraisal opportunities.
- Texas Coin Show (Sep 19–21, 2025) – Grapevine, TX (~25 miles). Super close to Dallas and ideal for collectors.
- TNA Coin & Currency Show (May 30–Jun 1, 2025) – Conroe, TX (~215 miles). Worth the drive for serious collectors with top dealers and grading services.
Getting My Coins Appraised
I’ve got some coins I’d love to have evaluated, and these shows are perfect for that. Dealers at these events often offer free or low-cost appraisals, and bigger shows like TNA may have PCGS or ANACS for professional grading. My plan? Bring my coins in protective sleeves, ask multiple dealers for opinions, and maybe join a local club like the Fort Worth Coin Club for extra insights.
If you’re not up for a show, Dallas has great local dealers like Bullion Express or Rudy’s Gold and Silver for quick appraisals. Just call ahead!
What’s Next?
I’m leaning toward the Cowtown Coin Show in February since it’s so close to Dallas. It’s the perfect chance to meet collectors, learn about my coins, and maybe snag a few new pieces for my collection. Are you a coin enthusiast too?
